I’m reviewing a series I recently read the 14th volume of (it takes ages to come out) and the series I’m talking about is Sgt Frog (Keroro Gunsou) by Mine Yoshizaki. The story centres around the residents of the Hinata Household. Which because of an encounter with aliens, consists of a family of three, and a platoon of alien frogs! The series starts with us seeing the series human protaganist, Fuyuki Hinata and his sister Natsumi encounter a small green alien from the Planet Keron! Which leads to an alien capturing and by a strange turn of events them befriending the alien!? Sgt Frog is a extremely funny (and unique) manga for fans of aliens, the occult and the occassional gundam figure! The series has a wide and wacky range of characters including half-seal, half-man aliens to a speedy kunouchi who lives in a boobytrapped house across the street. I would defienatly recommend this to any otaku (manga fan) and anyone hoping to get into manga!

One of my favourite manga series I’m reading at the moment is Negima! or; Magister Magi Negi, by Ken Akamatsu, genius creator of Love Hina. The series starts off the series’ protaganist Negi Springfield graduating from a Magic School in Wales. Then he has to be assigned a proffesion to complete his Wizardry Training. This leads to the 10 year old boy having to become of all things, A TEACHER; and in the spirit of Ken Akamatsu’s work, at an all girl’s school!

The series is a typical harem with one lucky boy surronding by an entire class of cute and sexy older girls. But who says that old anime clichés are bad? The series goes from one strength to another with a large cast of characters, with a variety of backgrounds which can lead to endless pairings, stories, battles and fanfics!! In Ken Akamatsu’s style there is always a potential love interest thrown in add a little romance, but the series keeps you guessing with a few more interests than expected in your typical harem series!  In a nutshell, Negima! is a hilarious, exciting, magical story with plenty of cheap thrills and panty shots thrown in to keep most manga readers amused.

Ok, maybe that quote doesn’t really have anything to do with ANYTHING!!! But still I thought I’d start off my first blog off with something a little, as they say, special. So even though I have a extremely wierd title to anyone who doesn’t watch anime, read manga or is outside of the whole otaku universe, (in the ‘real’ world) I’m gonna try to explain my blog.

The object of my blog is to inform any new curious anime fans or hardcore otaku on any new (or old) manga I have stumbled across or I have stashed away in my ever-growing collection.
